Home life - Part III

The dining room
This is basically an ordinary room,
although in more traditional homes the dining table is the same
height as those present in bedrooms. Here, it is usual for everyone
to sit kneeling down. The problem with this stance is that it results
in aches and cramps, hence the reason why cross-legged seating is
preferable in younger generations.
Dinner should be conducted in silence
once eating begins. Of course this isn't the case always.
